MOVING FORWARD MINDFULLY

We are very looking forward to having the studio come alive again. There are so many ways we are working hard to navigate the coming months as a business. This week has been difficult. For me, I feel as though I spent the last 8 months climbing a very large mountain and COVID-19 blasted me to the bottom and invited me to begin the climb again.

We are at a new place now. All of us. I aim to re-open mindfully after the 4th of July. As I spoke with Dr. David Grimshaw about our re-opening, I was reminded that almost everything we do is a calculated risk. We take a risk when we drive, fly, dance, eat, play, share space ect. We always have. Some people do not have to luxury to call Covid-19 a calculated risk because, for some, it is much more serious than that. I hold this knowledge close to my heart as I move forward.

We will continue to Live-Stream classes from now on. I believe that with the new equipment and technology we are investing in, the at-home experience will far surpass zoom. More to come on our Live-Streaming soon.

Currently, Jay and I have:

  • Installed a new fan system to circulate air out of the studio and fresh air back in.

  • Purchased three hospital-grade air filters for each zone of the studio.

  • Plan to limit class sizes to 10 and create a space that allows for people to respect social distancing.

  • Spaced the class schedule out a little to allow for one class to exit before the next begins.

  • Marked the floor with stickers that indicate where each participant should put their mat.

  • Installed a plexiglass wall at reception to allow for safe transactions.

  • Supplied the studio with two places to sanitize hands.

  • Had foot handles installed in the bathrooms so that freshly washed hands don't touch the door.

  • Created an in-between class cleaning policy as well as an end of the day cleaning policy.

  • Require that both students and teachers are healthy and symptom-free when teaching and practicing at the studio.

More than ever, the studio needs your support. We feel it a privilege to offer what we do and can't wait to continue to grow as a community.
